Phoenix Car Accidents Involving Backless Booster Car Seats are Risky for Kids

Every parent understands that a Phoenix car accident can happen at anytime and how important it is to make sure all young children are properly fastened into child safety seats. As children get bigger, many parents turn to backless booster seats as a safe and alternative option.

However, a recent study indicates that backless booster seats may not be as safe as parents might think. The study indicates that these types of car seats offer little protection to children if the car they are riding in is struck on the side.

Researchers believe that backless booster seats increase the risk of a child being fatally injured in a crash. The reason for this belief is that a child’s head can be crushed against the window or door in a side impact accident.

The same researchers are also recommending that parents discontinue the use of backless booster seats and replace them with traditional booster seats that have backs to them. They believe that booster seats with backs are safer for children, since they offer children more protection in a car accident.
